KATAKLYSM, DIVINE EMPIRE, MISERY INDEX To Take Part In DEATH ACROSS AMERICA 2002 Tour

June 23, 2002

The next installment of the Death Across America tour will reportedly feature KATAKLYSM, DIVINE EMPIRE and MISERY INDEX, with a fourth band to be added shortly (said to be either SCAR CULTURE or BEYOND THE EMBRACE),and will tentatively kick off at the Milwaukee Metalfest on July 26-27. According to booking agent Jeffrey Churchwell of Digger International, "we have made some changes and have returned to the original roots of the tour.

"From the beginning DAA was intended to be a club tour that was a fair-priced tour for the fans of some the finest established extreme metal bands teamed with some of the newer bands that are due for some tour exposure. We are returning to this original concept.

"In recent years, ticket prices went up as attendance increased. Although DAA continues to exceed each previous years attendance we shall enforce the 10- and 12-dollar ticket price for major markets and 8- and 10-dollar ticket prices for smaller markets.

"This tour is and always be a full-on an extreme metal tour set up for the fans. There are many name tours, but there are none solely of this nature and quite possibly the only tour of its kind that has established buyers and promoters in place before the talent is even announced. This is a real metal tour for real metal fans.

"This will be the 5th annual running of the tour. The tour duration is four weeks in the primary markets that the US and Canada have to offer."
